My hope is that in the future, maybe at an official GuardianCon, we can have an entire speedrunning segment for that specific part of the community. Speedrunning has always been a core part of Destiny 2 for some Guardians, it’s just becoming even more prevalent now.
If you like MMOs, it’s got a lot for you to play, if you enjoy RPGs, there are mechanics to suit you, if you just love collecting, this is the home for you. I think that Destiny 2 is made even more special by the fact that it can accommodate pretty much any type of gamer. It’s what speedrunners across all games do, but here we can see the culmination of the effort rather than the lead up of four months of work. A group of Guardians all worked together to figure out the optimal strategies and even uncover this skip. This run took four months to pull together. It’s a legitimate strategy, but rules the run out of the 100% category, if such a thing even exists because you’d need to complete that encounter to fit in there.
Every Dungeon is made up of sections, and this world record run just completely passes one of them by. How is that possible? Well, they figured out a way to skip the Vorgeth Encounter. As you can see, they managed to shatter the time and get it down to 4:41.
